Val Silidker, MS, founder of Inspired Life Workshops and Expand the Love, is a Deep Ecologist, inspirational speaker and transformational coach, as well as an event producer, MC, writer and facilitator, who has been building community and empowering individuals and groups both nationally and internationally for over 15 years. She has a MS in Ecology and Education with continued focus in experiential learning, ecopsychology, psychosynthesis, cosmology, wilderness therapy and systems thinking.
Val produces, directs and facilitates transformational workshops and events, where participants can explore themselves and their interconnectedness with life, and works intimately with individuals to inspire them to ask deeper questions, discover their purpose, passions, strengths and the depths within them. As a speaker, Val delivers energetic, thought-provoking and interactive presentations that address the core of who we are, the state of our world both internally and externally. She gets to the heart of any message with grace while challenging individuals to question deeper and see the world with new eyes.
Val has been the MC for many mindful-living events and festivals, as well as a guest lecturer at universities and a keynote speaker for many national conferences, non-profits and other organizations. Some of her past clients include: Florida International University, Miami Dade Earth Ethics Institute, Sierra Club, Earth-Learning Institute, The Collective Heart, WorkForce One, NewLife Expo, dozens of conferences, festivals and more. She has had the honor of presenting alongside such visionaries as Don Miguel Ruiz, Vandana Shiva, Dr Gabriel Cousens, Stephen Halpern, Starhawk, Drew Dellinger and Dr Brian Clement. Over the past decade, she has also created a powerful and diverse community of thousands of individuals from south Florida and beyond, who have come together to celebrate life and create a more sustainable world from the inside out.
Along with this, Val has worked in Big Cypress National Preserve as an environmental educator, taught Ecology and Deep Ecology at Florida International University for over four years and is a Florida Master Naturalist through the University of Florida. She studied humane education with the International Institute for Humane Education, worked closely with systems scholar and eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, is a certified facilitator of Awakening the Dreamer Symposium through The Pachamama Alliance and immersed in the study of The New Cosmology at Genesis Farm with Miriam MacGillis. Val has been a social, educational, community and environmental activist and speaker for over 15 years and co-founded Rattle the Cage Productions in 2001, an award winning video production group that investigates and produces documentaries concerning environmental protection issues. She recently completed a year-long immersion in the work of Soulcraft with eco-depth psychologist Bill Plotkin, as well as her certificate as a Mentorcoach in positive psychology. Val is currently engaged in in-depth psychosynthesis training with The Synthesis Center and believes that continued education and self-growth is the most powerful way to hold space as a guide for others.
Val is a certified Sivananda yoga teacher and licensed massage therapist for over 20 years, specializing in neuromuscular therapy, deep healing techniques, guided meditation and nutrition. With a background in performance, including regional theatre, commercials, television and music, she starred in The Jackie Watson Show on UPN-33 between 2002 and 2004 and was the vocalist with Ana Kanpa: Spirits of the Earth for six years and Song of the Soul for three years. Val spends time connecting, deepening and strengthening her relationship with Nature and the psyche, as well as community, developing social permaculture techniques, reading and learning, traveling to explore the many beautiful sacred and wild places on this Earth and living passionately from the heart.
