Here’s a recent interview with Matt:
Q: What is your vision and why?
My vision is that every single person on the planet is the treasure they seek and I want to help the world realize the truth about themselves, that they are more lovely, braver, smarter, stronger, and more powerful than they have imagined. I have a vision for the world that through more focus on awakening, being, and loving ourselves into remembering and re-discovering the wholeness, happiness and beauty that was already there.
Q: Can you tell me a little about your personal background?
Early on I was blessed with challenges and tragedies that directed my life towards something more. Being broken open from the outside and in and then inside out I became who I am today. The process I went through becoming a disabled veteran, several near death experiences, battling depression and anger issues, I knew there had to be a better way. From that place I started my spiritual journey which has lead to 20 years later dedicating my life to helping others through Mindfulness, Gratitude and Love.
Q: Can you describe one of the lowest points of that journey?
When my body broke down when I was in the military, facing reconstructive surgeries, medical discharge, and having trouble simply being able to dress myself and feeling more alone than I ever had before I thought my life was slipping away into oblivion. Day after day things just got worse, my body, my mind, my heart, all were broken and breaking further until I literally broke down on the floor and made one last gasp and prayed for help any help, if there is someone who can hear me, I need help…..
Q: What was the breakdown that followed that experience?
I awoke the next morning, feeling radically different, before my eyes opened I could feel it, I felt restored, loved, a healing had taken place. The sun was shining on my eyes, the warmth was felt deep down into my bones, into my very soul. By breaking down and breaking open and sincerely asking for help, I received that help and have never looked back since. Doesn’t mean I didnt have hard days, I have, I still do, but it never went back to that place of desperation, there was guiding presence, a divine intervention, if you will, and I have felt connected to and a part of it, and the Universe since.
