Hidden away in the southern foothills of Bali, just a short 10-minute drive from Ubud city center, Bhanuswari Resort & Spa gives new meaning to the word “tranquility”. The breath-taking beauty of terraced rice fields, towering coconut trees, natural spring-fed streams and luscious flowering gardens envelop this perfectly secluded sanctuary of peace.
From the Balinese architects who designed the resort, to the local builders having constructed it and the Balinese staff and management continuing to operate it, Bhanuswari remains an authentic and genuinely Balinese resort. Even the resort’s furnishings are made from local coconut wood, and the artworks featured throughout the resort’s rooms and villas, have been created by local artists and craftspeople.
Known as a center for spiritual awakenings, creative inspiration and restorative healing, Ubud has long been visited by travelers the world over, in search of calm and serenity. Bhanuswari embodies the essence of this Ubud tradition, providing guests a much needed escape from the everyday; a place of stillness and solitude, where they may once again regain their sense of inner balance, and find greater peace of mind.

Nada is a Sanskrit word that means sound. Though the practice of Nada yoga is not one specific practice it covers a wide range of practical exercises. Some practices include vocal play, singing, sounding the Indian scales and mantras. Part of Nada yoga is learning to fine tune your ability to listen to audible and inaudible sounds, which is an aspect of subtle vibration.
Benefits to Nada Yoga
- The practice of nada yoga assists us to become more aware through the aspect of listening, initially externally and eventually internally. When we cultivate a deeper awareness to conscious listening, our inner chatter slowly starts to dissolve which promotes inner peace. It is in a peaceful mind where joy and contentment naturally arise.
- Sound is intimately connected with our breath, as both aspects are used to bring us into the present moment.
- Transforms stuck emotions
- Releases endorphins (the brain’s “feel good” chemicals”)
- Sounding the musical scale helps to move inner pranic energy that increases your energy
- Builds your confidence to express and communicate more freely
- Creates new neurological networks in the brain and expands your consciousness.
- Improves communication
- Strengthen your teaching voice

Sequoia's life journey has been and continues to be a consistent cultivation of her spiritual development, through study and ongoing practice of yoga and the healing arts. In her teenage years, Sequoia began to study esoteric knowledge secretly, by joining a regular study group on the topics of chakras, meditation and crystal healing. Her interest in the healing arts branched out, with the study and practice of Tai chi for four years, before making her first of many visits to India. When in India Sequoia realised she needed help from addictions. She enrolled into a strict yoga ashram. After six weeks of practicing asanas, mantra and pranayama twice a day, she transformed and healed from her addictions. It was the beginning of her love affair with yoga. Sequoia's yoga path started in the lineage of Iyengar. She expanded her yoga studies in the tradition of Hatha and Ashtanga from various teachers in India. The love of vibrational healing was also a heartfelt calling for Sequoia. She started to study about mantras with Mata Gi, one of the main singers, at Pramath nikatan in Rishikesh, India. Her knowledge continued learning about how to use Tibetan bowls and other sound tools for healing. Her love for healing with sound began in 2001. In 2006, she completed a three-month intensive and received her 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Pyramid Yoga in Thailand. In 2008, she completed a one-month pranayama teachers training course with Shri.O. P. Tiwari at Kavaladhama yogic institute in India. Her love for pranayama began. Sequoia studied many different healing modalities, which allowed her to run a successful healing centre for eight years in Canada. Sequoia’s passion for life was heighten through her personal self-healing journey. She had a severe case of Crohn's disease. She healed herself naturally through the modalities she had been studying in previous years including mantras, toning, Pranayama, visualisation and learning to love herself. Regardless of what Sequoia is teaching her intention is always the same, to inspire, encourage others to listen to their inner wisdom and inner power. For seven years Sequoia was one of the main teachers with Tribe- yoga, international teacher trainings in India and Thailand. Sequoia’s "attitude is of gratitude" for all she has experienced and yet to discover about her spirit. Her other passions include singing, ceremonies, climbing mountains, spending time alone in nature and playing music. Sequoia now lives and teaches Yoga Teacher Trainings internationally, sound healing, and breathing retreats. She shares her time between Bali, India and Canada.See more photos and other events by this presenter

Regardless of the form of the experience, there is the possibility of turning towards the eternal… towards that which never changes. Trevor’s offerings arise within this living inquiry and become the invitation for you to meet yourself in unexpected ways. Whether it is through a deeply conscious and sensuous yin practice or a slow and dynamic yoga flow, through some spin-you-around-on-his-feet acroyoga antics or the purifying pranic vibes of breathwork, or through straight-up self-inquiry, he enjoys engaging with you in the human experience as old beliefs and concepts fall away.
The ever-changing experience for Trevor has manifested itself as a continual learning over the years as he steeped himself in Shaolin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Qigong, Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga, Vipassana and other forms of meditation, Contact Improvisation, and various dabblings within the somatic arts. He has also delved into the healing arts, studying Thai Massage, Visceral/Abdominal Massage, Bodytalk, Acutonics Vibrational Healing, Conscious Connected Breathwork, and Acupuncture. His healing work and yogic offerings have also been heavily influenced by a myriad of experiences with numerous personal and spiritual growth group processes and North American and Peruvian Shamanism.
His first taste of teaching began with martial arts and later flowered within the Yogic realms after he completed his first yoga teacher training with Trinity Yoga in British Columbia, Canada. He eventually went on to co-facilitate numerous 200-hour yoga teacher trainings for Trinity Yoga and Gaiatri Yoga. In recent years he has also developed and facilitated Conscious Connected Breathwork Facilitator trainings. Trevor has had the blessing of sharing yoga teacher trainings and workshops all across Canada as well as yoga retreats in Canada, Costa Rica, and Peru. He lives in Calgary, Alberta.
