Yoga Mandala Sacred Valley
Nestled in the magical Sacred Valley of Peru, the Yoga Mandala Retreat Center sits at the base of mountains Pitisuray and Sawasiray outside the village of Arin. The grounds at the Yoga Mandala are covered in flowers and fruit trees, while majestic rocks and cliffside ancient burial sites linger overhead. Fresh clear waters rush down from the mountains, channeled into waterways through the grounds, calming, purifying, and irrigating the gardens.
The magic in the valley is tangible, a unique opportunity to stay among the Quechua people and near ancient Inca temples and ruins, as you embrace the call to go deeper into your own sacred journey.
The location offers a special opportunity to connect with the vibrations of nature, taking a relaxing break to immerse in the practices of meditation, yoga, creative self-exploration, and deep appreciation of the beauty within and around you.
Yoga Mandala offers comfortable accommodation, beautiful gardens, cleansing waterfalls, delicious vegetarian cuisine and stunning views of the apus (sacred mountains) and surrounding lands. The center holds a strong energy, with an appreciation for the balance and purity of nature.
The rooms are simple, comfortable and elegant, and beds are covered in comfortable feather duvets. Each room has a private bathroom with hot water all day. The majestic views of the Andes and snow-capped mountains give you a glimpse of the valley.
The dining area is a comfortable communal space cosmically decorated in Shipibo Ayahuasca prints and handpainted art. A cozy common area provides a fireplace for relaxing.
Yoga Mandala has been designed to have the least possible impact on the surroundings eco system. The center is eco-friendly, made from local materials, and spacious—providing you with comfort and solitude ideal for your own spiritual growth.
The yoga temple is Mandala style, made with wooden floors and windows from floor to ceiling, allowing a full view of the surroundings and enabling you to find the nature within you.
Accommodations are surrounded with a wide variety of flowers and native trees, with water streams as background. The medicinal garden is designed with a full range of healing native herbs, giving guests the privilege to taste our home made herbal teas.
Enjoy delicious vegetarian and nourishing meals, with Peruvian inspiration. All meals are made with organic veggies from the garden and organic farms within the area. Breakfast consists of fruit, oatmeal, bread (and occasional eggs/cheese offered). Lunch and dinners vary, the constant being creative, inspired deliciousness with excellent green salads and occasional raw desserts.
This transformative retreat offers a creative inner adventure through meditation, daily yoga, and self-exploratory writing in the Sacred Valley, Peru.
Aimee Hansen, Creator of Storyteller Within Retreats
Aimee chases big questions with butterfly nets, only to set them free again. She's always had an irresistible attraction to words and metaphors as a way of playing, provoking, revealing, exploring, understanding, and connecting. Twelve years ago she began sneaking away from the office for creative writing classes at Central Saint Martins College, writing short stories and rekindling a childhood love for all things lyrical.
On a quest for more meaningful plot in life, she left her corporate job in London to travel for a couple years. In 2012, her travels guided her to Guatemala and back to herself. Her intensive studies with an intuitive mentor who called her "the storyteller" and her own passion for human insight started her on ever curious and unfolding journey into the nature of perception. Her work explores the power of the stories we tell within our lives and invites a creative and playful adventure in the yoga of perspective.
She works as a freelance writer, writes children stories, plays at poetry, and is writing a novel about the storyteller within. She holds a 200+ hr yoga teacher certification. She is inspired and humbled by witnessing how something raw and honest in the human spirit aches to open, when given the invitation. She began Storyteller Within retreats to share in the experience of exploring our humanity and stepping into our courage.See more photos and other events by this presenter
