Jona Geneva

Jona started meditating in yoga classes with her parents before the age of ten and was introduced to a formal study of Tibetan Buddhism and meditation by Lama John Makransky in 1996 while attending Boston College.

Since then, Jona has received teachings from several Tibetan lamas including Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Phakchok Rinpoche, Lama Surya Das, Lama Willa Miller, and His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Jona is fully dedicated to teaching meditation, has traveled to Asia and attends multiple retreats every year. She receives her training as a meditation teacher from Lama John Makransky and is a teacher within his organization, The Foundation for Active Compassion.

As the founder of Samadhi for Peace , she guides Meditations of Innate Compassion & Wisdom for private clients, corporations and adolescent treatment centers. You can also find her sharing these practices in weekly classes at Equinox and Unplug Meditation as well as her free, live-streamed class, Community Meditation . Her approach is personalized, compassionate and results oriented.

Sarah Natalia Simatupang

Born in Indonesia and has lived in 3 different countries. She studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and studied abroad in Spain to deepen her Spanish. Natalia loves to travel and learn new cultures and languages. Her love of activity brought her to yoga in Jan 2010…it was love at first Savasana.

She completed a Power Teacher Training with the desire to teach and practice yoga for the rest her life. The benefits of yoga bring such deep connection and healing of mind and body in which she learned the qualities of acceptance, patience, self-control and letting go. Lauren Dummit

Lauren Dummit is a licensed psychotherapist (MFT) in private practice (Santa Monica and Long Beach) with a focus on treating intimacy issues (sex and love addiction, sexual anorexia, co-dependency,) substance abuse, and eating disorders. Her unique style treats emotional discomfort and pain as an avenue for self-discovery and personal growth. As clients become better able to navigate their inner obstacles, they will rediscover their capacity to find balance and live a life that is healthy, joyful and free.

Lauren creates a comfortable atmosphere where the meaning of each individual’s subjective experience is respected. She emphasizes insight, self-awareness and empowerment to help her clients grow, learn about themselves, and lead more gratifying lives. Through an alliance of trust and collaboration, she works together with her clients to understand the meaning of symptoms. She is flexible and holistic in her response to each person with a treatment plan that is adjusted to the uniqueness that his occurring moment to moment between her and the client and providing referrals for collaborative services when appropriate. Lauren is also trained in EMDR which she uses to treat trauma and negative thought patterns.

Mindfulness and meditation also play a key role in her approach. Mindfulness focuses on the separation between thoughts and feelings. By focusing on breath or sensation in the body, one can separate their thoughts from their feelings, which can be hugely beneficial in addressing certain emotions. Meditation is a practice to help increase mindfulness in everyday living. Having personally experienced her own journey of recovery as an adolescent and young woman, Lauren has a great deal of respect for the courage it takes to undergo the process of growth, self-discovery and healing.
