Stina Wangquvist, Stinayoga

Stina found yoga in her early twenties while working as a photographer in Sweden. She felt intrigued and wanted to learn more about this ancient practice.

On moving to Australia, Stina took her first Ashtanga yoga class and fell in love instantly. From then on she made time for practice and meditation every day and has been doing so ever since.

The changes and the transformation from yoga have changed her life on so many levels. Not just physically – feeling strong and youthful as a mum after having two children – but more so on a mental level, where she has moved from a place of airiness and anxiety into a more grounded and happier existence, facing obstacles and hardship differently.

Stina completed her first yoga teacher training in 2006 with Louisa Sear and then a range of different trainings followed. Baron Baptiste, John Ogilvie, Mark Togni and Simon Borg Olivier have been some of her teachers. Her first job as a yoga instructor was with Duncan Peak at Power Living in Sydney where she worked for several years. Nowadays, Stina lives in Byron Bay and works on yoga teacher trainings with John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre. She teaches regular classes in town and weekly private classes with long term students.

Stina has recently taken up studies towards Osteopathy and is integrating her knowledge about the human body into her yoga teaching. See more photos and other events by this presenter
