la cortijo caseria del mercadoCortijo Casería del Mercado is an organic farm in rural Southern Spain. Offering accommodation in the heart of the Alpujarra mountains, honouring nature, ecology and tradition!
Not only is the Cortijo a working farm, it has been adapted as a retreat centre with traditional Spanish accommodation, a natural mineral water swimming pool and a yoga studio with breathtaking views.
Fully organic, biodynamic farming is practiced and in addition to the huge array of fruit and vegetables grown on site the farm cares lovingly for goats, horses and a peacock breeding sanctuary.
The Cortijo has several apartments that have been completely restored. These apartments are complete with a living room, kitchen, fireplace or wood stove, two bedrooms and bathroom.
Simple yet comfortable accommodations with a communal and family feel.

This course encompasses all aspects of the practice and teaching of Yin Yoga. You will learn how Yin Yoga differs from other forms of Yoga asana prevalent today and be provided with a breadth of knowledge in each of these aforementioned fields, which will give you all the tools required to be an excellent Yin Yoga teacher.
We will study the poses in depth, learning how the tissues are affected as well as the energetic influences on the body. You will also be instructed on how to sequence, work safely with injuries and teach responsibly.
Due to the nature of to the practice and study, participants often experience a transformation on various levels, this is supported by the environment and the teachers. We create a close knit group where everyone is encouraged to be their authentic self, learn from one another and share thoughts and feelings. The groups is always emotionally supportive and at the same time, down to earth and filled with laughter.
We will be teaching all aspects, anatomical, energetic and teaching methodology concurrently throughout the duration of the training. This will give students the time to incorporate it all holistically. Much of the learning will be active and hands on, students will be provided with both study materials and an active manual to complete as they learn and experience the practice.
