Since the days of Ernest Hemingway and Jack Kerouac the writer has often also been a traveler. Writing on buses, trucks, and boats, by flashlight, traffic light or candlelight – finding a time and place for writing is often a welcome task. But there also comes a time when the solo traveler tires of the chaotic and the logistical. The Koh Tao Writers Retreat is for that time. Whether you have been journaling and want to compile your experiences into a memoir, would like to try your hand at selling travel writing pieces, or have a fantasy novel that you’ve been neglecting for five months, this writers retreat can help without breaking the budget. We do this by bringing together travelling writers in a semi-structured supportive environment. Instead of hiring world class writers to run sessions, participants support one another in community and constructive critique. While we offer many of the same benefits as more expensive retreats - yoga, writing workshops, peer reading and review sessions - this structure allows the Koh Tao Writers Retreat to operate at a fraction of the cost of similar retreats worldwide.
