More about Paleo:
We believe that a Paleolithic inspired diet is a great place to start to find the diet that uniquely best suits you and enables you to achieve optimum health.
The diet mimics the food our hunter gatherer ancestors are believed to have eaten, and includes pastured and wild meat, fish, nuts, seeds, seasonal fruit and vegetables. There are many different takes on this type of diet and our own approach includes the use of small amounts of grass fed organic meats, fish and especially oily fish, lots of seasonal vegetables and fruit. We realize that many of the vegetables we eat, for example, have evolved in more recent history and there is an abundance of wonderful natural foods that would not have been available to our ancient ancestors, so we take a common sense approach. We also understand that every single person is unique, it must have been similar in ancient times and a diet in Africa will have been very different to a diet in a different country. We therefore are mindful of three lessons from paleo times: There is no one correct diet, diversity is important. Secondly, fresh with the emphasis on seasonal foods with the highest nutrient content, free from preservatives. And, third, whole foods, for roughage and fibre, avoiding processed foods that were introduced since the agricultural revolution.
The Paleolithic Diet:
Is High in Nutrients
Is High in Fibre
Supports Gut Health
Vegetarians / Special Diets:
Whilst meat and fish are included in our meals in small amounts, we are very happy to cater for vegetarians and any other special diets.
