There is no place better than Bali to support this work! The resort we are staying in will wrap you in Balinese style and service so that you can thoroughly enjoy these activities included in your retreat:

- Balinese cooking class
- Traditional Balinese dance performance

Bali has always been a place of deep spiritual living, and you will feel the energy of this throughout your stay. Come and learn about the rituals and culture of the Balinese people, and take a class in preparing traditional Balinese dishes. See the important temples on this island and learn about the history that makes Bali so special. Enjoy seeing the traditional farming techniques used to this day and a ceremonial dance performance. During your free time, explore the amazing shopping, delightful spas, the healers, or beaches of this “Island of the Gods”.
Ubud is the heart of Bali, where the spirit and culture of the island are most accessible. It is surrounded by the island's beautiful rice fields and ancient monuments. We will be staying in a resort within a 25 minute walk, or short ride from Ubud, Bali’s spiritual center. Close enough to go and enjoy the shopping and wonderful restaurants, yet far enough away to be amidst the peaceful, fresh countryside beyond the city center. All rooms have their own bathroom as well as air conditioning to be comfortable day and night. Our yoga room is open air to enjoy the beautiful nature surrounding us. We will have breakfast after the yoga class daily at the center, then either participate in one of the included activities, or have the day to explore.
The Panacea on the Road to Bali retreat will be held from October 9 – 16, 2016. As it can be a journey just to get to Bali, please do make your plans so that you can join us for the opening circle in the late afternoon of October 9th. Many of our previous retreatants have found that arriving a day or two earlier can help them make any time adjustments, and feel ready to join the retreat on opening night. We will also be hosting the evening dinner on the 16th, so plan to leave on the 17th (we will have a yoga class and breakfast available that morning).
The cost for this retreat is $1675 per person double occupancy, and $1975 per person single occupancy, if you make your reservation and pay the $500 non-refundable deposit by March 1, 2016. After March 1st, both single and double occupancy prices go up by $300. To make your reservation or find out any further information, contact us .
Bali is often considered one of the most enchanting travel destinations in the world. There is a magic here that can be found in the friendly people, the strongly rooted spiritual nature of their way of life seen in the exquisite offerings placed everywhere, and their attention to detail in all they do.
Bali is a small island, with daily life linked to appeasing the gods and spirits in the midst of breathtaking panoramas of cultivated rice terraces, volcanoes, and lovely beaches. Bali has a tropical climate, so expect the evenings to be around 23C (73F) to day time temperatures around the low 90sF (31-33C). October can have some rain, though not much.
There is great artisanal woodcarving, jewelry making, and weaving. Shoppers will be delighted at all that Bali has to offer, as will those looking to have the incredible pampering of the many spas. Ubud is also known for its healers, spiritual centers, and amazing amounts of restaurants with delicious, healthy food. For those with a more adventurous side, there is an incredible sunrise hike up Mt. Batur or Agung, a guided biking tour, or the incredible waves off the coast.
In other words, there is something for everyone! Come and see why all who speak of Bali do so with a yearning in their heart to return!
Our Panacea on the Road retreats are small and special. We have kept this one to 12 people, so contact us now for more info and to save your space!

Mary Byerly Yoga Instructor
Mary’s teaching is firmly grounded in the classical traditions of Hatha Yoga; her approach—honed over ten years of leading small classes at Panacea to a wide variety of practitioners—incorporates a thorough knowledge of anatomy with a deep intuition about what can best serve each student at any given moment. Emphasizing alignment and strength, she also encourages her students—regardless of age, ability, or illness—to breathe deeply and to connect with the inner teacher, to open up to the wisdom and peace of the heart. Her ultimate goal is always to guide her students towards the freedom and truth within.
As your Teacher Training Instructor, Mary will give you a thorough grounding in the traditional foundations of yoga–asana, pranayama, meditation, bandhas, mudras, and kriyas—as well as helping you to develop your own authentic personal practice and teaching style:
