Michelle Labelle

Michele Labelle found her true vocation – YOGA – in 2002 while on retreat in Encinitas, CA, and has enjoyed teaching Hatha, Restorative and Kundalini yoga since 2003. What Michele brings her students is an inner awareness of self...a sense of being honoured, grounded and confident while getting to know their bodies through yoga practice and the breath. She has facilitated many yoga retreats locally and globally, and her love of travel and passion for yoga is an invitation to come “home to yourself” in sacred places around the world. These journeys are a gift to the soul and a rediscovery of fun and adventure with like-minded travelers.

As part of her own inner journey of exploration, Michele became a student of her guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, founder of the Self-Realization Fellowship, which led to her yearning to experience India, his Motherland. In 2001 she was drawn to India and attended the Maha Kumbh Mela. Since then she has facilitated two Yoga Journeys to India for Sacred Earth Journeys, from the Himalayas and Golden Triangle of the north, to the many temples and beaches of the south. The sights, history, colours and adventures of India are like nowhere else and Michele loves to share her passion for India with her fellow travelers. She has also lead local retreats in British Columbia as well to exotic Tahiti in 2011 and magical Bali in 2012 for Sacred Earth Journeys.

Prior to teaching yoga Michele spent 16 years in Respiratory Therapy, which has given her a unique view of the role the breath plays in our daily lives.

Michele's passion is to share yoga in a way that will empower and connect you to your breath, mind and body; to become more aware of the messages that surround you; and to stop and listen especially when in a new environment. Michele caters to all levels, beginners welcome!
