Kalani Oceanside Retreat
For more than 30 years, Kalani has been a soulful place of refuge and renewal for international guests. Kalani is an educational nonprofit organization that celebrates Hawaii, nature, culture and wellness. Kalani is located on Hawaii Island, commonly known as the Big Island, and is bordered by tropical jungle and the Pacific Ocean.
The retreat center is situated on 120 acres of organic agriculture, overlooking the ocean, on the East side of the Island of Hawaii. Hawaii, also known as the Big Island is more than double the size of all the other islands put together, and it’s home to the only active volcanoes in Hawaii.!
Accommodations are simply decorated with original art, with no phones or televisions, making it an ideal environment to unwind, relax and focus on personal well-being and awakening. All accommodations include access to the pool, sauna, jacuzzi, lush towels and small gym.!
Because the Retreat Center is located in a tropical jungle overlooking the spectacular Pacific coast, the rooms have no need for heating or air-conditioning and they feature more screens than windows in order to maximize airflow and views.!
At the retreat center, guests are summoned by the call of the conch to dine on the retreat center’s open-air lanai (veranda). The cuisine encompasses a variety of styles including Hawaiian, Thai and South American, and the chefs have extensive training and a common interest in creating healthful and delicious meals.
Finally, with a plethora of diverse and fascinating fauna and flora, we encourage our guests to spend quiet time in communion with nature.
We offer vacations and workshops that provide our guests with fun and transformative experiences, and the tools they need to promote their higher selves.
Our experienced staff, assisted by resident volunteers, dedicate time, energy and care to our guests. We offer healthy vegetarian-friendly cuisine, comfortable accommodations for every budget, rejuvenating bodywork treatments, recreational facilities, and educational adventures.

WHAT WE’RE UP TO
The Life Reboot workshop focuses on four main themes: connection with self, connection with creativity, connection with abundance, and connection with purpose. Our goal is to guide you in:
Identifying patterns or beliefs that may block change (self)
Nurturing the flow of your personal creative energy (creativity)
Expanding the intersection of practical and purposeful (abundance)
Exploring and clarifying your unique desires and gifts (purpose)
HOW IT WILL WORK
Our mornings will be spent together in a small, intimate group setting. We will engage in guided inquiry, group dialogue, coaching, creativity exercises, meditation and movement practices. As we work through topics, we will share personal stories and insights, and participate in both group and individual exploration.
Our afternoons will be unstructured to allow time for reflection, for spontaneity, for whatever moves you. You can enjoy the pool or hot tub, hit the beach, take a hike, check out the nearby Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, or indulge in a massage. You will also have an opportunity to connect with participants of other retreat programs, and other members of the Kalani community.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Daily workshop sessions in the mornings. Free choice afternoons - where you can spend time at the pool / sauna / beach or take advantage of a variety of classes and healing sessions available on-site: yoga, meditation, dance, art, Reiki, massage. Evening workshop session after dinner for integration and sharing circles.
You will walk away from the Life Reboot Experience:
With a personal transformation blueprint for living into your life’s work
Enjoying a greater sense of clarity and connection with purpose
Feeling refreshed, energized and inspired by your possibilities
Belonging to a participant-only online community to support your change
It’s important to also clarify what this isn’t intended to be. It's not some kind of silver bullet, and it's not magic! Please don't use this as therapy or a substitute for therapy.
This workshop is for women who are hungry for more freedom and deeper fulfillment in their work, and who are looking for a spark to ignite change.
Over the years, I have found that many of the principles that we use to guide people through changes within organizations, are also useful to help them make changes within themselves -- for the “soul purpose” of having more enjoyment and fulfillment in life. And, I believe that bringing a holistic perspective to these changes is what makes them authentic and sustainable.
My personal mission is to guide people in making an intentional shift: from balancing work-life to embracing their life’s work.
Born and raised in Indiana as a first-generation American, I've always had a restless soul. By the time I was 30 years old, I had picked up and moved 10 times, across 4 different states, traveled to more than three dozen countries and worked for 8 different companies. Change has always been the name of my game.
But don't be misled by my freewheeling ways. If I have learned anything in living through all of these changes, it is this: deep change -- changing your life and choosing your path by design, and not by default -- requires commitment and perseverance, along with resilience and adaptability.
As a Harvard alumna, MBA graduate, and former Director at a large global consulting firm, a few years ago, I reached a point in my career where I felt accomplished, but empty. Eventually, I decided to leave corporate, and pursue a life of freedom, creativity, and purpose. To make this shift, I had to let go of things that were deeply embedded in my identity, and learn to redefine my notion of success.
During my 15 years in the corporate world, I wore many hats: as a training and development professional; as an organizational change consultant; as an executive coach. I helped dozens of leaders and teams deal with massive change. I have found much of what I learned to be useful in individuals’ journeys as they strive to do more meaningful work in the world. I know it is not an easy transformation.
To move from balancing work and life to embracing your life's work, you have to navigate between healthy fear and creative risk taking. You are constantly trying to expand that seemingly impossible space where practical meets purposeful. Helping successful, purpose-seeking women build a solid bridge across the chasm, rather than taking a blind leap of faith, is now an important part of my own life's work.
