Daphne Charles

Sustainability of Self

Daphne sees the ultimate expression of Sustainability as being in alignment with oneself and to her this is yoga’s highest offering. Through this perspective she travels worldwide to teach and welcomes the interchange of knowledge with those that she meets along the way. Co-founder of Routes of Yoga, she commits to share the teachings of yoga with clarity and heart, in the same grain that she has been fortunate enough to receive.

Her method of teaching is inclusive and promotes a balance between Effort/Discipline (Abyasa) and Ease/Surrender (Vairagya) as it is the constant balancing of these two aspects that leads to a safe and sustainable yoga practice, one that allows for growth and expansion without the expense of self-acceptance.

Often including philosophy into her classes, it is Daphne's hope that everyone on the path of yoga has the opportunity to spend time studying from these sacred texts.

Anton Jager

After graduating from business school in 2002, Anton went on his first trip to India, where he was introduced to yoga. He was immediately fascinated by the challenge of a yoga practice and its relaxing effect. Since then yoga has become an essential part of his daily life, especially in balancing out the pressures he encountered during his previous assignments with multinational corporations like Google as well as a mission with Doctors Without Borders in Africa.

The Austrian has travelled several times to India where he studied the different traditions of yoga, allowing him to gain a deep understanding of this ancient science. It was also in India where he started to teach and share his knowledge.

Although Anton studied Yoga at its origins, in his teachings he strips it from cultural and religious connotations in order to make it more accessible to the modern practitioner.
