Tarifa, Cádiz (Andalucía)

Tarifa, Cádiz (Andalucía)

The region of Cádiz is of astonishing natural beauty. Besides being home to six natural parks with such diverse landscapes as to high mountains or seaside marshes, Cádiz boasts some 260 km. of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, with long, virgin beaches of fine, white sand, like Los Caños de Meca and Zahora in Barbate, Bolonia in Tarifa and El Palmar in Vejer de la Frontera.

Tartessians and Phoenicians visited this spot and funded Gadir around 1,100 bC, making Cádiz the oldest city in the West. After them, the Romans, Visigoths and Muslims also left their mark here. It is no wonder Cristopher Columbus chose Cádiz‘s harbour to set sail from to the New World.

In Cádiz, the seashore promenade from La Caleta to Campo del Sur will most surely remind you of the Malecón in La Habana! And the thing is, there are plenty of similarities between Cádiz and Hispanic American cities thanks to the constant flow between both continents in the 15th and 16th centuries. The baroque and neoclassical Cathedral, many colourful palaces and numerous watch towers bear witness of Cádiz’s colonial past.

A visit to any Andalusian region will not be complete unless you try its delicious gastronomy and wine. Cádiz is specially known for its celebrated wine cellars in Jerez (where sherry wine is made), El Puerto de Santa María, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, or Chiclana are some, just to name a few

Stanislava Benova

Stanislava is a certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher who has been teaching for over four years.
A professional swimmer in her childhood and teen years and a fitness and dance enthusiast afterwards, she never believed she would become a yoga teacher! Stanislava found in the Ashtaga Yoga practice demanding physical activity in the asanas and the ability to control the mind and overcome the fears in everyday life.
Yoga changed the way Stanislava perceived herself and the world around her. Yoga made her more focused, conscious, and guided her to treat her body with more respect and use her energy more effectively.
She started teaching Ashtanga Yoga to enable others to experience the benefits the practice had brought her. She is dedicated to her students and strives to improve their skills by enhancing each individual’s strengths and by helping them overcome their weaknesses.
