Samata Holistic Retreat Center

Samata Holistic Centre is located 3km inland from Arambol, a village in the Northern most part of Goa near to the Maharashtra border. Arambol is an ideal starting position to discover the beauties of Goa. With nightly drumming sessions on its long beaches, a vibrant market, lots of international and Indian restaurants, and a large tourist crowd, Arambol allows you to quickly sample the colorful and eventful social fabric of Goa.

At the same time, tucked in the lush palm tree jungle away from partying tourists, nothing at Samata is reminiscent of the busy Goan life.

Yoga Shala: Built from a 200 year old Teak House and featuring a recycled teak floor, this fully equipped temple-like Shala will inspire you to further and deepen your practice.

Dance Studio/Shala: 12x12 meter workshop space with no pillars and 2 walls of mirrors, specifically designed for dance and choreography, but can also be used for yoga styles which do not require props.

Organic Cafe: Vegan and macobiotic cuisine with a Japanese twist, run by a Japanese Chef.

Rooftop Restaurant: run by executive chef with impressive international experience, whose style of cooking focuses more on richness of taste and indulging the senses, and includes seafood and meat, as well as vegetarian options.

Children's Garden Yogi School: fully equipped children's centre with a early childhood development program for 3-6 years old, based on Buddhist values. The kids centre is in she shade of a magnificent Banyan tree complete with a treehouse.

19 spacious, rustic, elegant rooms accommodating up to 40 people, built from traditional style Indonesian village houses, and all from recycled teak wood. Rooms are equipped with King or two single beds, exclusive verandah, private open air bathroom with hot water, and free Wi-Fi.

Communal Kitchen: fully stocked self-service kitchen with assortment of teas, coffee, coconut water, nuts, dried fruits and other snacks available daily for your enjoyment.

Organic Veggie Garden: reintegrating organic and biodynamic principles, a team of organic gardeners and trained local villagers have developed and impressive garden of produce that is served daily. Unlike anywhere else in India, you can witness the organic food that you eat while its growing, and you make friends with the cows which provide the fertilizer needed to grow the produce. Fresh herbs and greens are harvested daily for the kitchen needs.

Kevin Naidoo

Kevin is a true yogi traveler. He hitchhiked across 50 countries, discovered yoga in the Caribbean, lived on remote islands, trekked across Africa, and bathed in the Ganges. He truly lives his life through his heart.

Through Yoga, Kevin discovered a deep mind-body connection, and an increased sense of mental clarity and purpose. He travels, practices and teaches Yoga, with the intention to spread that sense of Oneness, firmly believing that the ancient practice of Yoga is for everyone. Spreading the message of yoga to the next generation, he has also taught yoga to children, inner city youth, and children with disabilities.

His classes are both creative and challenging, focusing on igniting the Prana, and finding stillness and oneness in each asana. Woven with Indian Vedic Philosophy, each class is a journey in itself, culminating in Yoga Nidra that will leave you feeling bliss as you float your way home.

Kevin completed his teacher training in Classical Hatha Yoga, at the Sivananda School in India, has completed a 200 Vinyasa TTC with Ryan Leir, and has certifications in Yin and Yoga Nidra.
