Emma and Neil
Between them they hold diplomas in personal training, nutritional therapy, yoga, sports massage, and biomechanics, which they combine perfectly to provide an integrated approach in understanding the human body.
As well as being a trained nutritional therapist, Emma is a food enthusiast and loves to experiment in the kitchen and make healthy food taste as good, if not better than normal food. During the retreats there are many workshops led by Emma which include juicing, raw food, cooking for health, and digestive health to name but a few. You will come away full of ideas on how to make fantastic juices and smoothies, how to make healthy food taste great, and how it can serve your health for the better.
Additionally, Emma has spent time in India learning traditional Vinyasa, Yin, and Ashtanga yoga and meditation techniques, which she passionately believes contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
Neil brings together the combined skills of personal training, sports massage, and biomechanics to coordinate the fitness and therapy aspect to the retreats. He is responsible for getting the heart pumping as well as massaging away the tightness in muscles incurred from bad habits and posture.
This retreat will take place in Dalyan, Turkey, which is actually a beautiful conservation area due to nesting turtles on the nearby beach. The neighboring fields of pomegranates and orange groves make this a tranquil place to stay. Although away from the hustle and bustle of Dalyan, the retreat is only a 20 minute walk from the city centre.
The retreat center can sleep up to 18 people into single or double rooms with en-suite facilities and air conditioning. Around the venue you will find mattresses under gazebos, hammocks, a tree house, comfortable sunbathing beds, and swing seats which will allow you to relax and take in the fresh air.
The price of this retreat includes three healthy meals a day, along with juices, smoothies, wheatgrass shots, and supplements. The starting point for optimal, vibrant health and rejuvenation is through the foods you consume. If you consume dead, lifeless food, then you may feel fatigued, sluggish, and even ill. However, if you consume healthy living food, full of color, nutrients, and enzymes, then you will feel full of energy and enthusiasm.
The majority of the food is organic and grown at the venue itself. It is cooked by traditional chefs and guests often comment on how delicious it is. You won't be served meat, refined flour, cow's dairy, grains, eggs, coffee, "normal" tea, alcohol, nightshade vegetables, or refined sugar. These foods cause a lot of inflammation and stress to the body which can make you feel fatigued.

One of the main focuses on the retreat is the power of food. As the Greek physician Hippocrates said “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” Emma, who is a Naturopathic nutritionist, lives by this statement and has used her knowledge to help others and herself return to optimal health. After coming off of the contraceptive pill, Emma didn’t have a regular menstrual cycle for 2 years. She conducted hormonal tests, practiced yoga and meditation, and made major nutrition and supplement changes to restore her cycle and subsequently her overall health. She is passionate that these methods can support a range of health implications. Neil too has benefitted from Emma’s knowledge. In 2012 Neil was diagnosed with Hemochromotosis – a genetic condition where the body absorbs too much Iron causing fatigue, damage to bones, joints, and the liver. There is no cure but as a result of being treated via traditional medical intervention and nutritional therapy, his condition is now under control. As well as being a trained nutritional therapist, Emma is a food enthusiast so loves to experiment in the kitchen to make healthy food taste as good, if not better than ‘normal’ food. You can find her recipes and blog HERE. During the retreats there are many workshops led by Emma which include juicing, raw food, cooking for health, digestive health to name but a few. My passion is in food and seeing the power it has to transform our lives. I really do live by the Hippocrates statement 'Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food'. I don't believe health is about depriving ourselves of the foods we love, it's about nourishing the body with delicious, wholesome foods. I want to take people away from the idea they have to starve themselves to be healthy. I have a personal website and blog with lots of recipes to help people on their healthy journey.
Additionally, I have spent time in India learning traditional Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga and meditation techniques, which I passionately believe contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
I now spend a lot of time abroad working on health retreats. I work on Jason Vale's retreats in Portugal and Turkey, as well as our own retreats in the UK and abroad. These are incredible opportunities to spread the love and passion I have for health and wellbeing. See more photos and other events by this presenter
