Imagine relaxing on a white sand beach of a crystal clear lagoon and drinking from a fresh green coconut. Picture yourself hiking through the mountains of the lush Atlantic Rainforest and cooling off in hidden waterfall pools. Envision living the peaceful practice of yoga in a tropical paradise unlike any other.
After several years practicing and teaching together, yoga teachers Mimi Ray and Jessica Lee are offering a very special opportunity for yoga practitioners to deepen their practice in beautiful Brazil. This February & March 2016, Mimi and Jessica will be hosting an off-the-beaten path yoga adventure in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro state.
You have the option of a week or two-week yoga retreat where you´ll get the best of Brazilian nature by spending half your trip on the pristine beaches of Buzios and the other portion in Lumiar, a protected nature reserve high up in the mountains of the beautiful Atlantic Rainforest.
In addition to daily yoga and meditation practice, guests will enjoy guided excursions, massage, delicious vegetarian meals, live music and other cultural treats. This is truly an opportunity to see Brazil in a way few tourists every do! It is also an opportunity to dive deeply into yoga practice and lifestyle in a way few practitioners ever do.
Together, Mimi and Jessica have over 30 years of yoga experience and are both certified yoga teacher trainers. Jessica has been living part-time in Brazil for almost 10 years and is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. Her knowledge of the area, local customs and off-the-beaten path attractions makes her a wonderful guide. She has been offering yoga and eco-tourism retreats since 2011. Mimi currently teaches at Expressions of Grace Yoga Grand Rapids, MI. She also offers a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program.
The retreat packages are available to individuals, couples and groups. No yoga experience is necessary for the retreats. Message us for an information packet.
