This. Is. Life. In. Balance.Yoga at Finca Esperanza Verde with Autumn Adams
Autumn Adams, international yoga instructor and founder of Ambuja Yoga will be guiding the group through twice daily yoga sessions. Throughout the week you will receive individualized attention and see a progression in your asana practice over a relatively short amount of time. Sunrise yoga will be an energizing hatha-vinyasa class concluding with savasana, pranayama and meditation. The morning class is designed to awaken the body and the senses to fully to prepare you for the day.
Evening classes will be a gentle flow that incorporates both yin and restorative postures to nourish the body, mind and soul and relieve fatigue, tension, and stress. Evening class will also include yoga nidra (yogic sleep) or meditation. Yoga nidra promotes deep healing and restoration, it also provides an opportunity to work with, and plant the seeds of your sankalpa. Your sankalpa is an intention in accordance with the vibration of your being, your highest self. A yoga nidra practice plants the seeds of your sankalpa into the deepest recesses of your mind.
Be a conscious creator. Manifest your destiny.Hiking & Birding at Finca Esperanza Verde
Along the trails there are multiple places to stop and take in the sights and sounds of the jungle (forest bathing), meditate, or read a book. Forest bathing, Shinrin-yoku, was developed in the 1980s in Japan and has become a cornerstone of healing and preventive health care in Japanese medicine. Forest bathing is the medicine of simply “being” in the forest. Practicing Shinrin-yoku has been proven to lower stress levels and may also boost the immune system and help fight cancer.Hikers, birders, photographers, and nature lovers rejoice! Finca Esperanza Verde (FEV) is one of those places that speaks to your soul. FEV maintains miles of hiking trails that wind throughout the property past stunning vistas, a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole, and lush coffee plants. The canopy is rich with life here.
During the retreat you will be encouraged to spend your afternoons out on the trails, swimming in the waterfall or otherwise connecting with nature. The trails are all well-marked and excellently maintained (some of the best trails in Nicaragua). Head out on your own or grab a guide. While you’re out on the trails you’ll see numerous species of birds, butterflies, and insects along with howler monkeys and if you’re lucky a sloth or two.

Some places “pull on your heart strings” and Finca Esperanza Verde EcoLodge is one of them. Owner’s Vivianne and Andrew have created a home away from home for travelers high in the mountains above Matagalpa. Finca Esperanza Verde, set in the cloud forest, above San Ramón, supports the local community by hiring a 100% local staff, maintaining and supporting La Chispa Elementary School on the property, promoting continuing education and professional development for staff, and fostering a women’s jewelry collective Colectiva El Plomo.
Finca Esperanza Verde has truly embraced the meaning of being an ecolodge. The finca, a working coffee and vegetable farm, uses only responsible and sustainable methods of farming, 100% solar and hydro power electricity, a 100% carbon neutral thermo syphon system to heat water, vermiculture, composting, biodiverse landscaping, and fabulous farm-to-table meals. You will have the opportunity to enjoy Finca Esperanza’s fantastic coffee, grown and processed on site and feast on organic meals sourced from the farm’s garden and nearby neighbors.
The Colibri , Tucan, and MotMot cabins have breathtaking views where you can watch the sunset behind the mountains as the sky begins its light show. Finca Esperanza Verde’s cabins are charming, simple and unfussy, allowing the surrounding landscape to rule the show. You’ll quickly settle into the rhythm of life at Finca Esperanza Verde; sounds of the forest will lull you to sleep each evening and the howler monkeys will provide your morning wake up call. Your afternoons will be spent hiking and exploring with new friends that share similar visions and goals, cultivating gratitude for the simple and small things in your life, and discovering the types of relationships, friends and energy you want to surround yourself with when you get home.
You will be welcomed warmly from the moment you arrive at FEV and before the week is over you will be plotting and scheming your return. We cannot wait to host you!

: Autumn Adams
Autumn Adams, RYT
Autumn was first exposed to yoga in 2000 but didn’t embrace yoga until college when she began to explore different styles of yoga (vinyasa, Bikram, yin, hatha, & Iyengar). Autumn was initially drawn to yoga for the physical aspect of the practice, but as her yoga knowledge began to expand she began to notice her perspective and priorities shifting.
Autumn is a Hatha- Vinyasa Yoga Instructor at the 500 hour level. She completed her 200 hour Hatha training with Yoga Indigo (Bend, OR) and her 300 hour level training with Zuna Yoga (Bali, Indonesia). Autumn has also studied Prenatal Yoga with Shana Celnicker Chong at the Bhaktishop in Portland, Oregon.
Autumn continues to deepen her practice by attending workshops with internationally recognized yoga instructors like: Leslie Kaminoff, Peter Sterios, Baxter Bell, Kathryn Budig and Rocky Heron among others. Autumn’s classes blend vinyasa & hatha yoga into an accessible, yet challenging practice that encourages intention, grace, & courage.
Autumn, her husband and their two dogs moved to Bend after wrapping up a 6 month trip through Asia where they practiced yoga, trekked in the Himalayas, climbed remote jungle peaks, and explored distant islands.
Autumn Adams is an avid yogini, foodie, hiker and traveler. When Autumn isn’t practicing yoga she can be found exploring Central Oregon, playing with her two naughty pups (Sal and Jedi), whipping up amazing meals for friends and family or deepening her knowledge of yoga.
