La Selva PositanoAt La Selva life and work are surrounded by nature. Our rustic rooms among the olive groves are perfect for those seeking an oasis of calm among the landscape of the Amalfi Coast. La Selva is a land where nature reigns supreme and in this pristine place “in front of u sea” between Montepertuso and Positano in March 2002, we have created an association of social promotion, also called La Selva. The headquarters of the association is in an old country house can only be reached on foot by two paths and set in the wilderness, olive groves, citrus trees, rock walls and cozy grassy terraces. At Selva you can rest and relax after months of work, enjoy our food prepared with ingredients from the land we grow – olive oil, lemons, jams, vegetables from our garden and the fruit of our trees – walk along the beautiful trails that lead to the sea or in the mountains, free climbing, attend courses and seminars on yoga, design, theater and dance!
Cool off in a small swimming pool located in one of the terraces in the rural countryside and access to the internet via wi-fi. Often in the evening we organize screenings on stage seven of nine meters which is located on a terrace above the sea and on Saturday night we make pizza and bread in our wood-burning oven. Starting from Selva you can discover the nearby beaches of the Amalfi Coast, visit Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi and Capri to Naples and Salerno. For meals we use local produce that we grow organically and in the morning you can enjoy the jam made by Marta with oranges, lemons, figs and other fruits that grow in the Forest. For our 3rd Annual Italy Retreat, we’re heading to the enchanting, sun-soaked Amalfi Coast. Accessible only via footpath, we’ll make our home at a secluded and serene oasis. Nestled among the grottos and overlooking the ocean, this ecological gem is both an organic farm and a yoga sanctuary. We’ll gather at the farmhouse to feast on olives and lemons right off the land. Each day we’ll unravel our maps on a yoga platform overlooking the stunning Mediterranean and savor a daily practice. Sadie’s all-levels classes include a unique blend of asana, functional fitness, and movement medicine.
On excursions you will discover small-production wineries and the picturesque towns of Montepertuso and Positano (both UNESCO World Heritage sites). On unscheduled days there will be plenty of time to read a book, explore the seaside trails, or nap in a breezy hammock.
Each year we take groups off the beaten path to hidden gems around Italy. Past participants ranged in ages and yoga backgrounds but raved about how Sadie’s practical, playful, and deepened their personal yoga.
Come join us a rustic and restorative retreat.
ITALIAN YOGA RETREAT ON AN ORGANIC FARM ON CLIFFS OF ITALY'S MOST GORGEOUS COASTLINE
My main teachers have been Bryan Kest for his down to earth dharma talks and challenging yet simple sequencing, Rod Stryker for meditation and Pranayama and Abby Tucker for her incredible ability to highlight the alignment of body and nature.
The woodsy backdrop of my upbringing has most definitely bred within me a strong link to the natural world. I also believe that expression through costume is central in leading a happy life and offer weekly costume inspired yoga classes in order to encourage silly behavior at large!
A bit of my BY (before yoga) history: I received my B.A. in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley in 2011, which has been my inspiration in offering Seva centered classes and retreats. See more photos and other events by this presenter
