Leonard Sussman is the founder of Kirpal Meditation and Ecological Center (KMEC), which is about to have its Grand Opening.
I recently had the pleasure of getting to know him and his center – watch this video and read Leonard’s story below to hear this beautiful story about this incredible place (and read about the Grand Opening Special Offer):
Q: Can you tell us how this place came to be?
KMEC was formed out of my devotion to Param Sant (Saint) Kirpal Singh Ji who passed on in 1974. I was initiated by him in 1967 into Surat Shadb Yoga (Yoga of the Sound Current) and I now want to serve humanity by creating a beautiful sacred space in His honor where the weary Soul can find peace and be able to distinguish itself from its entanglements of Mind.
His loving and powerful presence is in abundance here (in every flower and tree) and practically everyone who visits KMEC and is the least bit receptive will get it. Those who are interested are most welcome to join me for meditation in the evenings at our meditation pavilion (made in Bali and shipped to Hawaii).
KMEC was once a plowed old papaya field and with the help of my teacher was able to transform these grounds into a most beautiful ten acre space with an abundance of organically grown (some exotic) fruit and hardwood trees.
Q: What does the place have to offer?
KMEC has, two kitchens (vegetarian and non-vegeterian), many cabins (with and without an ocean view; some with private baths and showers) and an ocean viewing 1000 plus foot Yoga Hale (hall) suitable for most any event, weddings, healing workshops and teacher training courses, etc.
Even though KMEC is totally off the Grid, there is very good WiFI, hot showers and flush toilets. Because we are dependent upon the sun and rain for most of our power and water (we have the state of the art water purification system for drinking) we ask that you be mindful of these precious resources and conserve where you can.
Q: Can you tell us about the surrounding area?
KMEC is just 1/2 mile walk to safe swimming and thermal heated warm ponds as well as a very short drive to lovely tidal pools where snorkeling is great. There are numerous local food markets, Hawaiian musical events and lots of personal growth workshops in this permacuturally rich area. The Pacific Ocean, scenery and ambiance of this whole region of Hawaii is phenomenal.
Q: Do you have a special offer for our community?
We are honoring the Grand Opening of Kirpal Mediation and Ecological Center in Pahoa, Hawaii by offering a very low introductory booking price of between $35 to $45 per person per day for groups of up to 30 people if bookings for 2015 and 2016 are made before June 1, 2015.
Q: Anything else you’d like to tell our members?
We hope for the opportunity to host and serve you and your students! I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org and at 360-907-5845.
