Camp Trestle Glen operated continuously for 52 years, until 1980, when a devastating ice storm forced the closure of the camp. A significant financial gift from Dr. Reuben H. Kuratli made it possible for the camp to reopen in 1984. To recognize Dr. Kuratli’s extraordinary generosity and acknowledge the unique history and location of the camp, it was renamed Camp Kuratli at Trestle Glen.
The camp is located just miles from Portland and is situated on 188 serene and beautiful acres. Deep Creek flows through the camp and provides a soothing soundscape of trickling water, accented by birds, including a large blue heron that makes its home in the forest surrounding our camp. We are secluded, but not remote; the site is camp-like, but comfortable.
From September to early June, Camp Kuratli is available as a retreat and conference center for groups whose experience would be enhanced by our serene and beautifully maintained setting. August is an ideal month for your church or group to experience the great outdoors! We are close enough to Portland for convenience, but secluded enough to make you feel like you are a world away.
We offer a range of housing options, from traditional “camp-style” dormitory housing in cabins, to semi-private and private accomodations.
In addition, we provide outstanding meal service and a variety of gathering places, from small conference rooms to large meeting spaces.
Our location is ideal for retreats, gatherings, training, and church camps.
During mid June through end of July, Camp Kuratli is unavailable for rental. During this time the facility is used to offer a variety of summer camping programs for at risk, under resourced children, youth and senior citizens from Oregon and Southern Idaho.
