Venue Description

The Center for Reuniting Families was established in the early 1990s through the vision and dream of founder Peter Huber, Ph.D., following a personal and often difficult family journey.

Dr. Huber’s personal research indicated that today’s youth-at-risk were most often from dysfunctional families and the child’s healing was largely dependent on the healing of the whole family. Members of healthy families feel safe, are well-informed, feel they have the power to make choices, have lasting bonds with one another and have a sense of meaning in their lives. Youth-at-risk have very few of these experiences. But what if an environment could be created that would duplicate some of those healthy experiences for children who had less perfect home situations? Dr. Huber determined to provide just that: an environment where families could come together and begin the path to healing through self-exploration, assessment and, if necessary, a complete recreation of the functional family unit.

On November 15, 1994, the The Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose:

To establish and maintain programs providing both teen-oriented and adult assistance to educate and encourage choices that are positive for the individual, family, community and for the greater stewardship of the earth through experiential exercises and to develop a teaching institution disseminating educational material to the public.

The Center for Reuniting Families is a 501(c)3 non profit organization. In addition to our core goals, CRF provides a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.
