Since opening in 1988, (dedicated in 1989), Gaunts House has been at the forefront of the evolution of human consciousness. Over the years this homely Dorset mansion has played host to many leading teachers of healing, transformation and self-awareness including: Andy Tomlinson, Diazan (Julian Skinner), Bill Palmer, Robert Bly, T.Desikachar, Gangaji, Thich Nhat Hanh, Dadi Janki, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Satish Kumar, Denise Linn, Gabrielle Roth, Vimala Thakar, Sir George Trevelyan, Neale Donald Walsch and others.

Gaunts House is first heard of around 1355 when it was left to John of Gaunt by his beloved wife Blanche, daughter and heiress of the old Duke of Lancaster. Beneath the present red-brick mansion is one of Portland stone, built around 1752 by Sir Richard Glyn, Lord Mayor of London.
