Inn Der Bach was established in 1946. Located on the historic Shay Ranch, Inn Der Bach is set on approximately 7 peaceful acres. The historic Shay Ranch once was a working cattle ranch and functioned as such during it’s filming years. The cabin set built for the 1940 feature “Brigham Young”, starring Tyrone Power, still stands today. The 1959 episode of “Bonanza” episode, titled “The Truckee Strip” was filmed on the historic Shay ranch.
Inn Der Bach is located approximately seven miles from Big Bear Lake. The San Bernardino National Forest is approximately twenty-two miles away. Our resort offers mountain views and a peaceful get away in our rustic cabins of Big Bear. We offer a variety of inviting alpine chalets for guests enjoyment.
Within a few miles of Inn Der Bach there are a variety of restaurants including Madlon’s, Captain’s Anchorage, Sweet Basil Bistro and Evergreen International. The Village, located in Big Bear city is filled with restaurants, entertainment, boutiques and souvenir shops.
During the winter, guests can enjoy snow play activities at Bear Mountain, Snow Summit, Big Bear Snow Play or Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. During the summer, spring and fall, guests can enjoy zip lining, fishing, jet skiing, water sports, horseback riding, parasailing, and much more.
