Venue Description

A visit to Jerry’s Jungle Huts is a journey to an unusual place where the beauty and diversity of Himalayan landscape delights the senses. Authentic Indian hospitality makes you feel like part of the family and the outdoor adventures range from exhilarating to sublime.

The lodge’s comfortable bungalows and individual cottages are between a pristine forest reserve, private mountain stream and a ferocious river. It is surrounded by a landscape where birds and butterflies flit through exuberant foliage and complement the soothing sound of flowing water. Jerry’s Jungle Huts blends into this landscape. Located at a very comfortable altitude, the weather is never too extreme around the year. Organic farming within the Resort would leave you mesmerised especially when you taste some of the delectable items directly from the farm to the table as per your choice.

Getting there is also part of the adventure, since most of our guests are used to walking the one kilometre trek to the lodge which is quite dramatic passing through a villa, gushing Neugal river and some pine forests should you wish to avoid a simple climbing to the Resort. Jerry’s Jungle Lodge is also an ideal spot to kick back and relax, enjoy the scenery and serenity, and get to know the local people or just gaze at the imposing Dhauladhar mountain range from the comfort of your balcony.

In fact, most guests say they wish they’d booked a longer stay. A host of experiences await you from pure adventure to spiritual and culinary pursuits. It all stated in 2008 when on a casual stroll in the forest outside his hometown Palampur, Anil Jaryal (Jerry) spotted a rocky piece of land along a stream. Within seconds the idea of starting a quiet getaway close to nature rushed through his mind which Jerry turned into a reality.

Built with passion and patience it is Jerry and his teams’ earnest quest to go “Back to Nature”. Jerry’s Jungle Huts is an Eco Farm concept that continually evolves. Hence no two trips ever will be alike.

We have some cows and small backyard poultry too. The cow dung is stored in a biogas unit which produces fuel and very high quality organic manure.

There is a perennial water stream flowing all along the property. Zero inhabitation around JJH enhances the ambience of the place. A wide variety of plants are part of the flora-fauna which is a visual treat. JJH is a place where you can unwind and recharge your batteries and discover yourself.

JJH is easily accessible from road, rail and air- Dharamsala (Gaggal) being the nearest airport.
