Skyline is our place on the planet. Here we live and work throughout the year. We cut our own firewood. We tend animals and grow gardens. Our creek provides our electricity. We know the source of our spring and the well from which we drink. Our practice is to be present to each abundant moment in which we find ourselves. We invite you into our lives through opportunities for solitude and silence, for participation in workshops, earth celebrations and spiritual dialogue.
Teresa lived 26 years in a Carmelite Monastery, embodying a way of life informed by the Christian mystical tradition. In her work of hands and heart she continues to live a contemplative life here at Skyline, a monastery without walls and without institutional boundaries.
Diane holds a BA in cross-cultural religious studies and a Master’s in theology. She has worked as a pastoral minister among incarcerated women for many years. She is the creator of an in prison transformational program based on her book “The Lioness Tale” as well as host of her own talk radio show called “The Lioness Tale: Awakening the Liberating Spirit” on VoiceAmerica’s Radio Network. She has sought her own transformation through prayer and meditation, Gestalt Awareness Practice and the Enneagram, all of which she now teaches and practices in her life and work.
Skyline was founded in 1988 by Teresa and Diane as a response to the needs of incarcerated and chemically-dependent women. Today, as an eco-contemplative center, the original commitment to justice, compassion and healing has grown to include the whole earth community. Their vision for Skyline has been largely informed by two visionary mentors: Raimon Panikkar and Thomas Berry.
