Suleyman’s Garden is a very charming, small traditional farm with terraced vegetable fields, orchards and beautiful gardens, with stunning sea views.
The local owners grow all their own organic vegetables and fruit for the kitchen to make the truly delicious meals. It is the food as much as the location, which helped us to decide this was the place to bring our guests. Suleyman and his family, who cook, clean and garden, are very welcoming and helpful.
Staying at Suleyman’s Garden is very much like being a houseguest – it’s a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, particularly welcoming for people holidaying on their own. There is also plenty of space to be by yourself and be quiet if you wish.
The accommodation is in simple, comfortable wooden cabins with verandas, and traditional stone and thatched huts, set amid lovely flowery gardens. There is room for groups of between 15-18 people, including teacher and assistant/partner, in double, twin and single accommodation. The capacity of the yoga shala is currently 16.
Bathrooms facilities are shared, and conveniently located around the site, with ample showers, toilets and hot water. There is also one en-suite cabin, available at a small supplement.
There is lovely small swimming pool in a natural setting, with views over the terraces to the sea.
The wooden floored and shaded yoga shala is set amid the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, with lovely sea views and has space for 16.
The yoga shala is fully equipped with mats, belts, blocks, bolsters and blankets.
Suleyman’s Garden is in a stunning location overlooking the Mediterranean, with swimming from a rocky cove a five-minute walk away. It is also not far from lovely Kabak Beach, an hour’s walk along a beautiful coastal path in the shade of the pine forest or alternatively 15 minutes by road. Further along the coast, accessible only by boat, is wonderful, isolated Springwater Beach.
Suleyman’s is in a very unspoiled area, on what is known as the ‘Lycian Way’, a marked trail, which is wonderful for walking on the dramatic and mountainous coastline.
Despite being secluded and in an unspoiled location, Suleyman’s Garden is also only a fifteen-minute minibus or taxi ride (in the opposite direction from Kabak beach), to the small resort of Olu Deniz, with arguably Turkey’s most famous beach, for restaurants and shopping. It is also well known for the sport of parascending from 6,500 ft Mount Babadag.
We can arrange a private boat trip along this stunning and deserted coastline to the fabulous unspoiled Springwater Beach, which includes lunch freshly cooked on board. An alternative boat trip can take in the 12 islands of the beautiful Bay of Fethiye.
Fethiye is about 40 minutes away and is the nearest large town. Set on a beautiful bay, it features shops, bazaars, seafront cafes, Turkish baths and the ruins of the ancient city of Telmessos.
We can arrange day trips to a variety of locations including archeological sites and places of natural beauty, the wonderful ancient Lycian sites of Tlos and Pinara, the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy, the spectacular river gorge of Saklikent, and the extensive Roman city and fabulous beach at Patara.
Another favourite guest activity is a visit to the Turkish Baths in Fethiye. A delicious steam bath precedes a thorough scrubbing and exfoliation by attendants. Massage is also available. Relax and refresh Sultan-style!
