Venue Description

Suleyman’s Garden is a very charming, small traditional farm with terraced vegetable fields, orchards and beautiful gardens, with stunning sea views.

The local owners grow all their own organic vegetables and fruit for the kitchen to make the truly delicious meals. It is the food as much as the location, which helped us to decide this was the place to bring our guests. Suleyman and his family, who cook, clean and garden, are very welcoming and helpful.

Staying at Suleyman’s Garden is very much like being a houseguest – it’s a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, particularly welcoming for people holidaying on their own. There is also plenty of space to be by yourself and be quiet if you wish.

The accommodation is in simple, comfortable wooden cabins with verandas, and traditional stone and thatched huts, set amid lovely flowery gardens. There is room for groups of between 15-18 people, including teacher and assistant/partner, in double, twin and single accommodation. The capacity of the yoga shala is currently 16.

Bathrooms facilities are shared, and conveniently located around the site, with ample showers, toilets and hot water. There is also one en-suite cabin, available at a small supplement.

There is lovely small swimming pool in a natural setting, with views over the terraces to the sea.

The wooden floored and shaded yoga shala is set amid the vegetable gardens and fruit trees, with lovely sea views and has space for 16.

The yoga shala is fully equipped with mats, belts, blocks, bolsters and blankets.

Suleyman’s Garden is in a stunning location overlooking the Mediterranean, with swimming from a rocky cove a five-minute walk away. It is also not far from lovely Kabak Beach, an hour’s walk along a beautiful coastal path in the shade of the pine forest or alternatively 15 minutes by road. Further along the coast, accessible only by boat, is wonderful, isolated Springwater Beach.

Suleyman’s is in a very unspoiled area, on what is known as the ‘Lycian Way’, a marked trail, which is wonderful for walking on the dramatic and mountainous coastline.

Despite being secluded and in an unspoiled location, Suleyman’s Garden is also only a fifteen-minute minibus or taxi ride (in the opposite direction from Kabak beach), to the small resort of Olu Deniz, with arguably Turkey’s most famous beach, for restaurants and shopping. It is also well known for the sport of parascending from 6,500 ft Mount Babadag.

We can arrange a private boat trip along this stunning and deserted coastline to the fabulous unspoiled Springwater Beach, which includes lunch freshly cooked on board. An alternative boat trip can take in the 12 islands of the beautiful Bay of Fethiye.

Fethiye is about 40 minutes away and is the nearest large town. Set on a beautiful bay, it features shops, bazaars, seafront cafes, Turkish baths and the ruins of the ancient city of Telmessos.

We can arrange day trips to a variety of locations including archeological sites and places of natural beauty, the wonderful ancient Lycian sites of Tlos and Pinara, the deserted Greek village of Kayakoy, the spectacular river gorge of Saklikent, and the extensive Roman city and fabulous beach at Patara.

Another favourite guest activity is a visit to the Turkish Baths in Fethiye. A delicious steam bath precedes a thorough scrubbing and exfoliation by attendants. Massage is also available. Relax and refresh Sultan-style!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Suleyman\’s Garden. It’s a pretty special place which is kind of a cross between a Turkish homestay and a retreat centre. Suleyman\’s family live on site and cook up feasts every day that are mostly sourced from their own garden at the centre, which were delicious. There is a really nice relaxed vibe there. The cabins are simple but nice, and the newly built yoga space is awesome with a great view of the sunset. The location of the whole place is pretty idyllic with the ocean in easy walking distance. Swam almost every day. Overall a really nice and relaxing stay. Would definitely be happy to come back.

Just as special as Huzur Vadisi but with a completely different energy, Suleyman\’s Garden called to mind a mini Eden! Intimate, contained and abundant, fruit and vegetables of every description line the pathways that wind between the cosy huts, the kitchen and the shala. The views all the way along this quiet and dramatic part of the coastline are magnificent and it\’s incredibly hard to find such an unspoilt stretch of coast and peaceful nourishing garden in which to unwind body mind and soul, anywhere in the Mediterranean. The food picked and prepared the same day from the garden and sea was natural varied and delicious. The highlight for me is Deniz\’s fig jam. Please make a few jars for your guests to buy! Suleyman\’s is a tiny little haven full of nature\’s luxuries that made my heart smile.

Thank you very much for making my stay at Suleyman\’s Garden very special. The location of Suleyman\’s Garden is simply stunning with the unbeatable views of the sea. The idea of having the personal log cabins in the producing garden/orchard makes you feel so close to nature. Having local, organic produce, freshly prepared before the meals made it an unforgettable experience. Every meal was a celebration of the senses. Deniz makes the best tahini on the planet!

Yoga sessions on the specially designed deck were enhanced by being surrounded with growing vegetable produce and fruit trees. The yoga spot also has this calming view of the pine forest and the sea. And we could observe the sunset, while meditating, which made it really special and emotional. I\’ll definitely come back.

The photos of Suleyman\’s Garden are just a glimpse of the real place I call heaven on earth! The wooden cabins are placed in the wonderful gardens with all kinds of fruit trees, vegetables, flowers, and grapevines surrounding them. From the dining area you can watch the sun setting over the sea while enjoying your delicious dinner, prepared with love from all the organic garden produce and locally sourced food.

The yoga shala is set amid the vegetable gardens, and your senses are definitely enhanced by the energy of the natural surroundings; the sweet scent of jasmine and pine trees also creates a wonderful healing and energising aroma.

As a yoga teacher the retreat couldn\’t be better facilitated, it is comfortable, clean and well run, enabling you to receive the healing and rejuvenating time you need. Every second is filled with enjoyment!
I am so honoured and happy to have experienced my time in Suleyman\’s Garden and the hospitality of Jane, Ian, Deniz and Suleyman who have been so helpful and taken such good care of us. I have already booked for next year. Thank you so much!
