Gioconda Parker Bio
Gioconda combines alignment and flow to empower students to grow in their practice, inviting challenge in a nurturing environment. She encourages playfulness and enjoyment while exploring the science and art that is yoga. She believes passionately in yoga’s ability to bring unity at an individual, community and global level. In 2008, she initiated and co-founded the Austin based community movement “Changing the World, One Om at a Time,” a seva project designed to unite yoga communities in practice and service. One Om events continue to bring people together locally to love, honor and share the practice.
Gioconda has been practicing, teaching and studying yoga for over 16 years. She is registered with Yoga Alliance as an ERYT-500 and has led workshops, teacher trainings and retreats around the world. She holds a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology and continues ongoing studies in Somatic Therapy and Ayurveda. Voted Best in Austin Yoga Teacher, she has appeared in Origin Magazine, Austin Fit Magazine, and RAD Austin Magazine and presented at the Texas Yoga Retreat, the Texas Yoga Conference and at Wanderlust Festivals across the country. This year, she is happy to add the Telluride Yoga Festival to her festival teaching schedule, in addition to Wanderlust Squaw Valley, and is delighted to be leading the Eat, Pray, Move retreat for Holy Yogis in Italy.
