Raquel Ansari Bio
Raquel Salvador was born in Spain in 1973. She moved to London in 1999 where she became interested in yoga and began practicing in many different schools in and around London. She very quickly noticed profound effects occurring through her varied Hatha Yoga practices not just physically but emotionally and spiritually as well. Seeking to deepen her knowledge of yoga she undertook a 12 month teacher training course in 2007 in London with the intention of teaching her passion for yoga to others. Previously she had studied with Siva Rai and Jeff Phoenix who were influential in the development of her Vinyasa Flow style. During this period of study she met and started teaching with Mark Ansari. Their passion for yoga, life and teaching fused and she spent time working with Mark as his apprentice and assistant in his classes and retreats. They have been working together ever since.
In 2008 Raquel travelled to India where she studied Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore for a number of months. Since then Raquel returns to India every year and feels constantly inspired by other teachers and students that she meets while she travels around both teaching and studying. As a long time yoga practitioner, Raquel has been able to digest the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual knowledge and wisdom that surrounds traditional yoga. In her teaching she translates her personal understandings with a fresh and relaxed approach with the intention of awakening the students self wonder and providing a framework for a lifetime enquiry process and learning. Her particular area of interest is yoga philosophy and the human mind, which she has studied intensively and endeavours to incorporate into her teaching. Raquel offers more than just Asana classes, as her focus is to incorporate elements of self-exploration, self-knowledge and self-awareness. She has a talent for directing students deeper into their own experience on the mat and encouraging a greater awareness of yogic principles that can be applied into daily living.
Raquel’s talent as a teacher is guiding people to take responsibility for their own learning, development and healing so they can become more open to the possibilities of positive physical, mental and spiritual transformations.
