Veda Vyasa (the compiler of the four Vedas)

The four Vedas are the detail explanation of the Vedic Sanatan Dharma (the flow of nature) which is strictly followed by Hindu (the oldest religion) and all the religion of the world. It is the key of the whole human civilization; hub of all the discoveries, essence of whole existence. Vedas are but the science of life and the world.

Ayurveda OriginAnd, Vyasa Rishi is the author of the four Vedas; (1) Rigveda, (2) Ayurveda, (3) Samveda (4) Atharveda. He is also the compiler of Great Epic Mahabharata, 18 Puransa and Vedanta sutras. He is believed to be the incarnation of supreme Narayana and also considered to be one of the Chiranjivis (immortals). The festival of Guru Purnima is dedicated to him.

Religious texts say that Veda Vyasa was born in Damauli of Nepal. He was the son of Matsyagandha (Satyawati) and Parisar Rishi. The ancient mythology says “Parisar Rishi was lured by a beautiful girl (who was ferrying the saint) and enticed for love- making. Matsyagandha denied as she was too young for love making and people could see at day time. Parisar sage instantly created cloud in the surrounding and prepared nice environment for love making. As a result, Veda Vyasa was born as human being”.

I appreciate India’s sincere attempt for spreading the truth that was started from Nepal. Indeed, Veda Vyasa was born in Nepal; nobody can hide the Sun in a palm. We can see Vyasa cave in Damauli in the confluence of Seti and Madi river as stated in the ancient Sanskrit verses. May all researchers come to Damauli and see the clear evidence that quench the thirst of spiritual seekers. Veda Vyasa compiled the whole Vedas residing inside the cave. Actually he was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu himself who came in Dwaparyuga to make all the Vedic Knowledge in written form. Before his deed, Vedic Knowledge was available only in sound form. He scripted Vedas in Sanskrit language in order to allow people understand the divine knowledge. It is the holiest and oldest book ever made by mankind. They have words called ‘mantras’ which are chanted in religious ceremonies. The Vedas contain hymns, incantation and instruction for rituals / daily life. Indeed, it is coeval with the universe.

Vedas are the books of knowledge compiled by the Guru Veda Vyasa born in Damauli Nepal in the previous eons. The 4 Vedas (Rig-Veda, Samveda, Ajurveda and Atharvaveda) are the father of all the religious texts, literatures and scientific discoveries. And, Ayurveda is one of the chapter of Atharvaveda that studies herbal medicines and over-all longevity / well-being of human-beings. The word Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit language of Nepal meaning Ayur (life) and Veda (Knowledge). Obviously, the origin of Ayurveda is the pious land of Nepal.

From the time immemorial, the saints and sages of Nepal discovered herbal medicine through meditation on the foot-hills of Nepal Himalaya. Still, there are many places named after those saints viz. Kausik Rishi (Koshi) Bhardwaj Rishi (Bhardaha), Janak Rishi (Janakpur), Kapil Rishi (Kapilavastu), Kashyap Rishi (Kaski), Manu Rishi (Manaslu). Charak and Chyawan Rishi are supposed to be the most esteemed sages for Ayurvedic discoveries. They had meditated on the Panchase hill and practiced Ayurveda. Non-the-less, Ayurveda is an ancient health care tradition that has been practiced in Nepal from the very beginning of human civilization. Archeological facts proved that Ayurveda was in practice more than 60,000 years ago. Long later, the Hindus of India and the Chinese during Lao-Tzu period learnt Nepal’s herbal medical science by heart. Moreover, its popularity gained worldwide when it is integrated with Yoga and Meditation.
Ayurveda is based on the five elements of our universe; fire, air, ether, earth, water. These elements are represented in humans by three Doshas (bodily energy); Kapha (water), Vata (air), Pitta (fire). Our health and well-being depend on getting right balance of the three Doshas. People become ill if imbalance occurs in Tri-Doshas. Therefore, the major objective of Ayurveda is to balance Tri-Doshas. WHO has firmly stated that Ayurveda is the most reliable medical treatment as it goes to the very core and treats without any side effect. It is said that Homeopathy begins when allopathic stops working. And, it is true allopathic is taken just as a remedy but cannot cure the disease whereas homeopathy (Ayurvedic treatment) finds out the root cause and cures from the very bottom. This is the reason why patients come to visit Ayurvedic hospitals when they get tired of visiting several renowned modern hospitals.

Anyway, Nepal is the hub for Ayurvedic studies because Nepal is often known as “the biggest natural museum in the world”. Besides mountains, jungles, lakes, rivers and great diversity of flora and fauna there are numerous cliffs beneath the high snow – clad mountains too. And, those cliffs are the habitat of cliff bee named Apis Laboriosa. They are far from the madding crowd, completely in the natural surroundings. Because of the richness in bee flora there is a great diversity in honey types. Among the honey, Laboriosa bee honey is considered as of high quality honey because of its natural taste and medicinal importance. The cliff bee sucks nectar from high Himalayan herbal plants like Paanchawale (Danctytorhiza Hatagirea), Anthopogan flowers, Champaka, Bikh (Aconitum spp), Pangra (Entada spp) Pieris (Piris Formosa) which have intoxicating properties. In these reason grows Cordycep Sinensis (6 month plant and 6 month caterpillar) and Ganoderma mushroom too which are highly expensive herbs.

And, no doubt wild honey and wax contains herbal medical property. But, unknowingly honey hunters used to leave those honey wax in the jungle and bring just honey at home. Learning from the mother-nature, after a deep research, we discovered a classic natural product- Wild bee wax lip-cream. Our forefathers in eastern Nepal used to use bees-wax in cracked ankles and burns; we followed the same. As it is handwork, natural and pure, it is effective and possesses medicinal value. It is in cream color with sweet fragrance. It has got vitamin B abundantly, works as a moisture preservation and makes skin smooth. It is good for lips creaked, wrinkles, minor wounds, burn prevents, itching, foot- cracks, pimples, black marks and cold. But, especially it is a lip-cream. Basic Ingredients are Wild honey bee wax, Anthopogan Oil, Organic sunflower oil, Camphor, Chiuree plant ghee, wooden container. It is one of the best products of Tushita-Nepal ( At the same time we have respected forest, cliff, bee and the living people by honey hunting of Nepal. This is the reason that international media viz geography channel, CNN, BBC, NHK have admired by heart for the adventurous spirit of honey hunters, natural beauty and the extreme bio-diversity of Nepal.
